The Problem is the Number of Civs and City States and the such. The bigger Maps need more RAM, that is the main problem. You can make it more stable by deactivating animated leaders. And don't use the fucking launcher to get into the game. Use the command line thing to make the game start directly.You could easily kill four or five civs and then switch to science victory or culture victory though.
