My bet is your thermostat is sticking shut or there's air trapped in the cooling system. I'd install a fresh 195 degree Stant thermostat, and make that a Stant SuperStat if they have one in stock.At 70 mph, engine coolant temp was slowly bouncing between 223F and 243F. Mine's an '89 and the coolant temp sender is on the intake manifold behind the throttle body. The temp gauge sender is on the head near the rear of the block. They used the same thermostat housing for both configurations, so if your thermostat housing has a plug in it, then look on the intake.This is my first Jeep Wrangler.
