We<br />have also backwashed all hoses and cleaned the entire drive. The boat<br />runs well but it is still overheating with temps pushing 240+.I'm going thru the engine and outdrive to see if it's any good. The engine has checked out fine. 150 -155 lbs. compression on all cylinders (warm). 55 psi oil pressure (warm). No water in the oil. The engine runs smooth and starts well and idles at 800 RPM in neutral. Engine temp has gone no higher than 150 deg F on muffs. There is a thermostat.Put some blocks under the outdrive to support the weight of the drive. Remove the two cap bolts on each side and pull the outdrive pivot pins away from the boat about 1 inch. Make sure you watch how sleaves over the pivot pins come off. Clean all the old grease off and recoat all the way around with OMC triple guard greese. Reinstall caps.Check both parts. Step 2: Then you will find a code that has three numbers and letters. The serial number is mainly deffers one OMC Outdrive to another. The model number just identifies the model of the boat. There should be an "up" and a "down" solinoid attached to the throttle control bracket on the starboard side of the engine. The bracket attaches to the intake manifold bolts near the rear of the starboard side. There is also a 50AMP fuse inline with each sloinoid.
