I was thinking about getting a redneck ram steering assist kit from westtexasoffroad.com, the price is awesome about, 500 bucks for a rebuilt steering box, fitted for hydro lines, and ram. Anyways this wouldnt be for wheeling, just to make turning the 37's nice and easy, especially for the wife.I have had pretty good luck with tapping the factory steering gearbox and just adding a PSE ram to the axle. The only downside is that pulling into a parking lot into a tight parking spot the steering can be a little bit slow. But I'm pretty sure this is kind of common to all Hydro assist. WTOR hydro assist is way cheaper and almost as good but not quite as refined. The other upgrade path is the PSC Big Bore box but this should generally only be used if for whatever reason you are unwilling to install hydro assist but still want some power upgrade.The problem with the redneck ram is you are still using the stock pump and it is the same size sector shaft. So the weak point is going to still be a small sector shaft. Now with the ram assist, not a huge deal because the ram is doing pretty much all the work.
